Killer Diaper deal!

OK.
I already loved Rite Aid, but now my love has grown!
Thanks to the deal that Collin of hip2save.com posted, one of my favorite deal divas,
I was able to score 370 diapers for dirt cheap!
My Rite Aid didn't have anymore of the jumbo packs so they substituted 4 boxes for 8 jumbo packs...bonus

Here's what I spent:
Subotal came to $54 and change.
Used my $20 in UP+ rewards from last week...subtotal now $34
Total: $40.39 (with tax)
And as if spending $0.11/diaper wasn't good enough...I got $40 in UP+ rewards to use next week!

p.s. I know. I am not great a taking pictures...just ignore the glare

Frugality

Lately I have really been trying to be frugal so I have started couponing and also for the past couple months have been getting what's called a bountiful basket. It's an online co-op that you can purchase fresh produce for dirt cheap. And I mean dirt cheap! It is $15 for a basket which come with 12 kinds of fruits and veggies. I have price matched the items that have come in the basket and the closest I have ever gotten is $22! I love having the fresh stuff hangin around, but also sometimes have a hard time using it all before it goes bad. With the apples I have made applesauce, we have frozen some corn and broccoli, and this week I decided to dry some of the food, so far I have done bananas and grapes and they have turned out pretty good. Next I am going to try tomatoes...

I love saving money!

So this morning as I was going through all my ads, looking at the best deals on blogs, and printing coupons I was feeling like couponing might be too much work for what its worth. Then I actually went out and got all these amazing deals (cereal $0.80 each, gushers $0.69 each, pillsbury grands $0.22 each just to name a few) and I feel great about it. All you see here would have cost me $130+ and I only paid $67! And yes, there are 3 jumbo packs of huggies in there too! So it got my desire back up and I am excited to see what deals I'll get next week. And even more excited to eat all this yummy food!

Q

Today was my first time "couponing" as well as my first time going to the grocery store without Michael since Sydney was born. My sister-in-law Ann came and that was a BIG help, especially when Syd's diaper decided that it couldn't hold anymore and she peed all over me...seriously there was a puddle on the floor. Oh and I had just changed her about an hour before! But Ann helped me get her changed and back to shopping. Anyway, back to couponing...I didn't get super amazing results like those who I have been learning from (http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/ and http://crave2save.blogspot.com/), but I felt it was a good first try. I went to Walmart and brought coupons and ad matched these 18 items for a total of $18.91...so about $1 per item. The price before was $31.37, so I feel good about saving $12.46 and hope that my next savings amount is ever larger!
